Thoughts on Power Rangers Dino Charge theme

Hey, guys. This is just a short thing I decided to write about, to let you all know my opinion on the theme song for Power Rangers Dino Charge.

Power Rangers Dino Charge is a children’s live action show that was released in 2015 and ended in 2016. One day, when I heard of the show (before it was aired on television), I was excited about the theme song and I had an idea of what it would sound like. But when I finally heard the song, it… didn’t live up to my expectations.

So, where do I begin? I have to admit that the theme song’s verse was trying to send a
message about friendship, teamwork and survival against the forces of evil. However, I couldn’t tell whether the entire song wasn’t taking itself seriously or it was taking itself too seriously.

To tell you the truth, I was disappointed; I didn’t even like the song and I still don’t, to this day. The chorus didn’t excite me that much. There isn't much to say about this song. It was just... disappointing to me.

I imagined Ron Wasserman performing this song in his unique way, and with familiar lyrics for the verse (New Rangers to the Rescue) and a new, catchy beat to the chorus and the rest of song. But apparently, the original version was performed by someone else (whose name I don’t know). Maybe the song was trying to give off a pre-historic feel to the show, but it just didn’t work out for me.

So I wrote my own version of the song because I thought it would be a better fit for the show. This is what I imagined Ron Wasserman would do if he came up with the song for Dino Charge. In my opinion, it would have been awesome to listen to. But the singer (not Ron Wasserman) decided to try to deliver a message to the song and the listeners. You can only do that in certain songs and you have to ensure that this is done correctly. And no, I'm not saying that I can do better than the composers can. Because... I can't.

Take my Hard to be Harley and Where Will We Go From Here compositions, for instance. I admit that I like those versions better. But that doesn't mean to say that I see myself as a genius who can do a much better job than the composers of these original songs. Truth be told, I wish those songs were performed this way so that people will take the story or the message of the songs more seriously.
